The Company
This well known, highly reputable and respected organisation based in Perth's northern suburbs is currently looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer to join their team on an initial 3 month temp contract.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the main duties of the Accounts Receivable Officer includes:

  • Managing a ledger of accounts
  • Process incoming payments in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Reconciling the accounts receivable ledger
  • Bank reconciliation, month end reconciliation
  • Verify discrepancies & resolve clients' and customer billing issues.
  • Facilitate swift payment of invoices due by sending bills, reminders and contacting clients and customers with outstanding accounts.
  • Any other adhoc duties as requested

Your Profile
To be considered for this opportunity we are looking for the following skills, experience and personality

  • Minimum 3 years full function Accounts Receivable  experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics AX
  • Experience in Month End Reconciliation
  • Credit reporting skills/ aged debtor analysis
  • Intermediate Excel skills (V Look up/ Pivot tables)
  • Excellent Communication skills verbally and written
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A willingness to help out and work within a team environment
  • Be able to start within 1 week (although this is a long term contract there is a very strong chance the role will become permanent).

Lakelands Country Club is Perth’s most modern private golf club. Based in Gnangara in Perth’s northern suburbs, we are the youngest private golf club in Perth. A relaxed, friendly club that offers progression through the ranks at all positions. With a brand new $6 million dollar clubhouse set to open in mid-October we now have an opportunity for a permanent part time Accounts Officer to join out close knit team to assist in our ever-growing club.

We are seeking the services of suitably qualified, friendly, approachable, accounts professional to work 25 hours per week.

The Accounts Officer works closely with the Treasurer and General Manager to ensure effective delivery of accurate financial services and statements, and is a key representative between the Finance Committee and the clubs administration.

To be considered for the role you must have demonstrated the following in previous positions:

Relevant tertiary qualification (advantage if related to accounting or financial discipline).

Demonstrated advanced computing skills including the use of Microsoft Office products, particularly the use of Excel and Word.

Knowledge of MYOB accounting software.

High attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

Strong organisational and time management.

Ability to work both independently and within a team.

Ability to exercise judgement and work autonomously with minimal supervision.

Strong commercial customer service approach.

An understanding of a Club environment would be an advantage.

2 references and pre-employment checks.

Accounts Officer Responsibilities:

Budgetary preparation and monthly reporting of each committee portfolio, including capital expense and cashflows.

Reconcile customer payments including prompt and accurate balancing and posting of all receipts within financial system.

Reconcile & investigate variances in payment statements.

Manage debtors account and ledger.

Focus on aging of Accounts Receivable balance and ensure overdue amounts are followed up promptly .

Ensure documentation is kept up-to-date and actions are followed up via phone calls and email. Identify accounts in dispute, liaise internally with relevant parties to agree on resolutions.

Communicate with customers regularly regarding overdue amount and chase the payment

Preparation and administration of Payroll function

This organisation is a Local Council Located south of the river. They are currently sourcing a Rates officer for an immediate start, to join their team on a 6-month temporary basis with the view for extension.

Your new role
Reporting to the Rates Coordinator, you will be responsible for the end to end processing of council Rates, including but not limited to:

  • Processing of Rates registrations
  • Dealing with customers and responding to any rating and property enquiries by phone, mail, email, or in person
  • Maintenance of the Names and Address Register (NAR) and Change of Ownership
  • Pensioner's rebate and applications
  • Interim Rating, Subdivisions and Strata Titles
  • Debt management in accordance to the Local Government Act 1995
  • Other ad hoc duties as requested by the Rates Coordinator


What you'll need to succeed
To be successful for this role you will have:

  • Proven experience in the duties listed above
  • Sound knowledge of the Local Government Act 1995
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Prior experience in Local Government
