How will I help?

The role purpose is to provide leading risk oversight, insight, and control by achieving critical business and portfolio outcomes, including risk / reward and operational risk effectiveness. 

Key to your success will be your proven ability to engage and influence through your demonstrated strong credit risk assessment and evaluation skills.


Reporting to the Senior Manager Credit, you will be responsible for: 

  • Providing professional and proactive management of the portfolio to ensure optimal credit quality and effective account control.
  • Maintains the organisation's credit standards and business service quality by ensuring all credit decisions are soundly based, involve appropriate oversight, and reflect the organisation's current underwriting standards, policies and risk appetite for the segment.
  • Ensures that credit decisions are communicated in a constructive manner with consideration of suggestions.
  • Provides regular insight of local portfolio to recognise and monitor trends, loss / provision ratios, early identification of deteriorating credits, risk / reward returns and remedial strategies and reviews these as appropriate.
  • Advocates a one team culture and delivers credit coaching to embed process improvement and build credit skills capability for bankers.

What do I need?

To succeed in this role, you need:
  • Significant banking/financial services experience across a broad range of disciplines with at least 3/5 years experience originating and/or approving credit transactions within Business and Property segments.
  • Resilience to deal with competing opinions and tight timeframes.
  • Commitment to self-management, flexibility, and an organised and disciplined operating rhythm.
  • Contributes to a strong risk culture through an open mind to continuous improvement and change.
  • Sound, communication, and relationship building capabilities enabling an inclusive and collaborative approach in day to day activities

  • Tertiary Qualifications in related field;
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written;
  • Experience and confidence in presenting at seminars.

About the role

• This role will specialise in providing advice to clients who have Self Managed Superannuation Funds
• Provide exceptional service that exceeds clients’ expectations in accordance with the client advocacy survey
• Maintains client records by the use of standardised workflows, file notes and systems to ensure a consistently high standard of knowledge for each client that can be accessed by all team members
• Maintain the highest compliance standards to satisfy the legislative requirements, internal professional standards and the AMP Advice’s business rules
• Meet the minimum hours of required professional development training per annum by attending both internally and externally provided sessions
• Effectively manage the relationship between the client and AMP Advice including the transfer of clients to the ongoing service and providing advice on a fee-for-service basis
• Introduces new advice opportunities to existing clients and/or new clients by identifying referral opportunities from existing clients or other identified sources
• Deliver quality client and business outcomes by adhering to the AMP group’s core values and behaviours


Capabilities, Qualifications & Experience
• Meet the requirements of an existing adviser in terms of experience and education as required by https://www.fasea.gov.au/
• Minimum 2 years as an Authorised Representative (AR) providing unspupervised personal financial advice as recorded on https://moneysmart.gov.au/financial-advice/financial-advisers-register
• We are seeking an adviser with strong understanding and relevant qualification as an SMSF specialist
• Sound technical advising knowledge to current legislative, industry and corporate standards
• Proven high level of compliance to must meet AMP’s standards in order to be appointed as an Authorised Representative (AR) under the ipac license
