What you’ll do

As a trusted advisor, you will assist in enhancing the overall control environment off the Lotteries & Keno business.

Reporting to the Assurance Manager (Lotteries & Keno), you will perform monitoring, appraisal and validation of critical activities and processes – including:

  • Planning, undertaking, compiling and reporting on consultative Assurance reviews.
  • Assisting with the daily verification of Lottery and Keno draws as per regulatory and licensing requirements.
  • Assisting with the scrutiny and validation of Promotional draws.
  • Validating controls around the generation and production of Instant Scratch-Its games.

 What you’ll bring

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, business or law.
  • Experience in Assurance or Audit related discipline is desirable.
  • Understanding of Lottery and Keno products is advantageous.
  • Licensed as a Lottery Key Person under the Lotteries Act 1997 Queensland is mandatory. If not currently licensed, then an application must be completed as part of the recruitment process.

This role will be suitable for an experienced Manager, or a Senior/Supervisor wanting to step up!

Numera is a growing business primed for success – we are looking for positive people to help clients across a diverse range of industries (from construction to education, medical and not-for-profit) with bookkeeping requirements.

Our ideal candidate is someone who thrives on challenges, is highly motivated to take ownership of this role and will meet deadlines with minimal supervision. As clients are the centre of our businesses it is also essential that you are confident in building long term trusted relationships. Ideally you will also have an intermediate to senior level of experience in all functions of bookkeeping.

What your day to day responsibilities will involve:

  • Running day to day interactions with clients (either working from our office or client site)
  • BAS/IAS preparation
  • Completion of client accounting records including payroll if required
  • Checking and correcting client prepared MYOB (and other)records
  • Bank, GST and Payroll reconciliations
  • Preparation and/or reconciliation of PAYG records
  • Completion of year end processes
  • Assisting clients with their bookkeeping functions
  • Some travel to client's onsite premises on a regular basis

Additional skills that are considered essential for this role:

  • Full competence with major small business accounting packages such as MYOB, Xero, Reckon and Intuit
  • Experience with Receipt Bank
  • Strong Microsoft Office (i.e Word/Excel)
  • Ability to resolve problems with client records
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Organised, effective and quick work completion
  • Ability to monitor time and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive enthusiastic attitude and team player
