About the Role:

This is a senior leadership role that will be responsible for leading and strengthening professional learning across the school, focusing on:

  • Building teacher capacity, focussing on quality of teaching practices including the relevant use of technologies
  • Develop a strong professional learning culture for all staff
  • Run programs for leaders, middle managers and new teachers and beginning teachers to the School
  • Help teachers with accreditation process at proficient, experienced and lead teachers
  • In addition to Professional Learning responsibilities, this role will be required to teach up to 0.2 of a fulltime load
  • Full time, Permanent role commencing January 2021

About You:

  • High degree of professional judgement and empathy with, and for children and young people
  • A genuine passion for Learning & Development
  • Proven leadership experience and the ability to coach, mentor and develop staff
  • Thorough knowledge of Teacher accreditation requirements
  • Experience in the design and delivery of training programs
  • Possess accreditation with NESA and the willingness to participate in classroom teaching (up to 0.2 of a full-time load)
  • Have WWCC clearance
  • Have the right to work in Australia

Your new role
As the ECT Room Leader of the 4-5 age group you will be responsible for developing an engaging educational program for currently 15 children, whilst creating a supportive environment for children that stems from their interests. You will be supported by a professional and friendly team and will work with one other educator, who all take responsibility for assisting with programming, planning and observations.

You will be supported in your role by an experienced management team, who will share your philosophy of putting the needs of children and families first. You will be encouraged to bring your new ideas to the centre, whilst using your leadership skills to create a collaborative environment where other educator’s ideas are supported and heard.

What you'll need to succeed

  • ACECQA assessed Early Childhood Teacher degree
  • Preschool experience desirable
  • Excellent knowledge of the NQS and the curriculum
  • Outgoing personality and strong communication skills to build relationships with families and other educators

TheRole

We are looking for a Child Care Educator with a Certificate III in Children's Services who is motivated, contributes to team decisions, discussions and engages in critical reflection to progress practice.

On offer is a full time position working 7.6 hours each day, Monday to Friday on a parental leave contract commencing november 2020 current approved until October 2021

To be considered for this role, it is essential you have: 

  • a recognised Certificate III in Children's Services qualification or similar as approved by Australian Children’s Education and Quality Authority (ACECQA)
  • sound understanding of the NQF, EYLF, Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011)
  • professional level of written and verbal communication skills
  • current knowledge of Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
  • demonstrated computer literacy skills 
  • current NSW Working with Children Check
  • work rights to enable you to work in Australia
