About the role:

The Senior Intelligence Analyst role provides high level strategic intelligence across the Family Violence, Sex Offences and Child Abuse themes. The role monitors and identifies new and emerging trends within the three themes, as well as providing in depth analysis on issues impacting Victoria Police's response. Findings of intelligence products influence tasking and decisions made by Family Violence Command as well as other internal stakeholders. The Intelligence Analysts also provide advice and support to analysts located in the regions.

Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and support flexible working arrangements.


Your duties will include:

  • Planning and undertaking research, extracting and collating data and statistics and consulting with relevant stakeholders to obtain information to inform intelligence products.
  • Providing analysis on observed issues and trends - inferring potential drivers of complex problems, identifying current and future risk factors and considerations.
  • Supporting decision makers with high level recommendations by reporting on intelligence analysis in the form of various written products, along with briefings as required.
  • Maintaining support to intelligence analysts attached to investigative units in the regions.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • A strong work ethic as well as the desire and ability to establish positive and productive relationships in the workplace.
  • Excellent communication skills - comfortable with giving presentations and public speaking, providing briefings to senior management, adapting writing to suit specific audience as well as maintaining engagement and relationships across the organisation.
  • The ability to write well, show a clear chain of reasoning and adapt communication styles to suit the audience.
  • Basic arithmetic skills and knowledge on how to calculate and interpret proportions, percentage change and rates per population to assist with identifying trends in data.
  • Experience and an aptitude for intelligence and analyst activities including forecasting, monitoring and trend assessment.
  • Demonstrated strong mental capacity by managing stress and pressure effectively by understanding own stress triggers.
  • The ability to show initiative and identify new ways of doing things.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated aptitude to learn quickly from new experiences and information.
  • Interpersonal skills, including being open minded, approachable and enthusiastic
  • The ability to respond to changing work requirements and priorities and to adapt to unpredictable circumstances.


Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) fixed term position (until 12/09/2021) position currently available.
  • Position will be located at the Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.  To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.

Your new company
This reputable builder developer has over 30 years of proven success in the delivery of commercial projects across new build and fit out. Their collaborative approach and unique structure has ensured they’re well placed in terms of project pipeline well into 2021. Due to this strong pipeline of work, a permanent position is now available for a Site Supervisor to join the team.

Your new role
You will be responsible for:

  • Your initial project will be a $2M Industrial fit-out project in Melbourne’s North
  • Rolling your sleeves up and hanging doors, skirting, decking and ADHOC tasks
  • Conducting toolbox meetings
  • Ensuring OH&S and quality standards are met on site
  • Coordinating trades and working alongside the Project Manager to ensure the smooth running of day to day operations



What you'll need to succeed
  • You MUST be a qualified carpenter
  • You must have a First Aid Certificate (Level 2 preferably)
  • Proven experience in a Supervisor role with a commercial builder based in Melbourne
  • A strong ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders and subcontractors
  • An attitude which reflects our client’s culture which is positive, and solutions focused
  • Ability to read drawings

The role

As part of our civil group, the Site Supervisor will play a key role in the successful oversight and delivery of Saab’s OneView physical security information management system into a large correctional construction project.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Supervise day-to-day installation activities for the nominated work area
  • Manage the work area schedule and provide status updates to the Construction/Project Managers
  • Liaise with the builder’s work area supervisors to manage dependencies, delays and schedule impacts
  • Manage and record effort expended on variations/directions
  • Manage contractor performance and compliance
  • Co-ordinate and track the distribution of assets to subcontractors for installation
  • Ensure that all contractors / staff are working to approved SWMS
  • Conduct weekly Toolbox meetings and accurately record the meeting minutes.


About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Security/surveillance system design and installation projects or similar system integration projects
  • An ability to monitor, implement and conduct system installation activities
  • Working with sub-contractors and suppliers as part of overall security solution delivery
  • Testing and sell-off
  • A VIC Security License and construction industry White Card
  • Installation of security related sub-systems such as CCTV, access control, duress systems, perimeter detection systems, biometrics, key safes and intercoms (desirable).

This is a fixed term role until May 2022. The project is based in Lara, Victoria.
